Our club argued for an hour over the ending of 'The Silent Patient'
I was totally against the twist until Sarah pointed out the hidden flower motif in chapter 7, which I'd completely missed. Has a small detail ever flipped your view on a whole book?

Honestly, that book's twist felt cheap to me. But the flower thing? I went back and looked, and it's actually there. It doesn't save the whole ending for me, but I get it a bit more now. Makes me wonder what else I skimmed right past.

Hey @the_oliver, I actually loved that twist! The flower was a cool clue that made the ending feel earned for me. It's wild how we can read the same book so differently.

@the_oliver I get what you're saying. I heard someone on a book podcast mention that the whole story is actually about unreliable narrators and not just the twist, which made me think about it different. Makes you wonder what else gets missed on a first read.
