Our club pick got called 'unreadable' by one member, and it changed how we pick books
Six months ago our club read a 700 page doorstop that half the group never finished, and one guy finally said at the meeting that he felt like he was doing homework at a job he didn't apply for. So we started a rule where whoever suggests a book has to say up front how long it takes to read and why they loved it, not just that it won an award, and our meetings got way better. Does your club have any rule like that, or do you just let whoever picks the book make everyone suffer?
