Pro tip: Stop letting the loudest voice pick the next book

In my club, we used to just shout out ideas and the most pushy person always won. Last month, I suggested we each write a title on a slip of paper and draw one from a bowl. We ended up reading 'Piranesi,' which the quietest member had been wanting to suggest for a year. It was our best discussion in ages because everyone felt invested. How does your group handle picking what to read next?

Ever think about letting the last person who finished the current book pick the next one? It gives everyone a turn to lead and mixes up the genres more. Could that stop one person from always steering the ship?

Our local library has a free book bingo sheet with squares like "set in your hometown" that we use for picks. It forces us out of our usual genres without any arguments.

What if you added a square for books @piper_flores69 recommends?
