I finally had a perfect binding day after 3 months of disasters

Last Thursday everything just clicked. My glue temperature was spot on, the linen spines cut clean, and I didn't spill a drop of PVA for once. I managed to finish 4 hardcovers in one afternoon without any of them warping or the covers misaligning. It felt like a miracle after tearing my hair out over a batch of cookbooks that all came out crooked the week before. Has anyone else had a day where the bookbinding gods just smiled on you?

That's just luck, not skill showing up.

Really gotta disagree with that take. Luck might get you one good shot, but being in the right spot time after time takes a ton of practice and feel. Some people just have a knack for reading the situation and making the smart play, not the wild gamble. Call it what you want, but there's a reason certain players keep pulling off these plays while others don't. Luck can help once, skill is what makes it look effortless over and over.
