My bone folder snapped clean in half mid-fold yesterday afternoon

I was working on a 400-page fantasy novel I'm binding for a client and about halfway through a big section of signatures, my trusty bone folder just cracked right at the handle. I mean, I've had that thing for maybe 8 years, so it had some miles on it. I ended up finishing the round with a plastic one I borrowed from a friend's kit, but it didn't feel right at all. Anyone have a favorite brand of bone folder that actually lasts?

Whoa, it snapped right at the handle? That's crazy! I've broken a few screwdrivers before but never seen a bone folder just give out like that. Hope you find a solid replacement soon.

Nah, I gotta disagree a bit. In my experience, bone folders usually need a lot of abuse before they snap like that. Could be a bad batch or maybe the wood was just too dry and brittle to start with.
