Saw a video where a cat got its fur totally crusty with dried paste. Owner had to give it a full bath, which looked like a nightmare. Wheat paste is basically just flour and water, so at least it's non-toxic. Still a huge mess to clean up though.

read some cat groomer say wetting it with warm water first helps break the glue down.
