That expensive leather glue I swore was a gimmick actually saved my project this weekend

I got talked into buying a tub of that pH-neutral PVA glue for $40 at a convention in Portland two years ago and left it gathering dust because my usual stuff worked fine. Saturday I tried it on a tricky spine repair with some old calfskin that kept curling up, and it bonded flat in seconds without any warping. Anyone else got a gear purchase they were dead wrong about and now won't touch their old stuff?
