Tried the cheap PVA glue from Michael's and it ruined three projects

I used to think all PVA glue was the same so I grabbed a $5 bottle of Artist's Loft brand. After two books fell apart at the spine and a third warped badly I went back to my usual Lineco pH neutral glue. Wasted about $15 total but the real loss was the 10 hours of work on those books.

Are we really acting like $5 glue is gonna be the same as Lineco though? Ive used cheap craft glues for janky projects and they held fine, sounds like you might have skimped on the prep or clamping time too. Ten hours of work falling apart is annoying for sure, but calling it "ruined" seems dramatic when you could probably just reglue those spines with proper stuff and be fine.

Wait, ten hours of work? You spent that long on a binding and used cheap glue?
