Debate: Did my Monstera thrive because I repotted it or because I moved it away from the AC vent?
So six weeks ago I repotted my Monstera in a bigger pot with fresh soil. Right after that I also moved it from near my bedroom window to the living room because the AC vent was blowing right on it all summer. Now it's putting out three new leaves and looking way happier. I can't tell if it was the repotting or just getting away from that cold draft. My buddy says it's 100% the AC thing but I think the roots needed room. What do you guys think? Which change made the bigger difference?

Are you sure it wasn't the repotting giving the roots room to breathe and grow? I moved a pothos away from a draft once and it barely changed, but a bigger pot with fresh soil made it explode with new growth. Sounds like your Monstera just needed more space to stretch out, not just warmer air.

Could also be the fresh soil giving it nutrients it wasn't getting before. Sometimes it's less about air and more about what's actually in the dirt.
