Frustrated with the mess at my local botanical garden last Sunday
I went to the Smithville Botanical Gardens last Sunday with my wife, hoping for a nice walk through the rose section. But half the plants had wilted flowers just hanging there, not trimmed back at all. The signs were faded too, some so bad you couldnt even read the names. Why do places charge $15 admission if they wont keep up basic maintenance? Has anyone else seen their local gardens go downhill like this?

Poor maintenance is just disrespectful to the people paying to get in.

Hold up. "Poor maintenance is just disrespectful" - did I read that right? I mean, I get being frustrated about a broken ride or a dirty bathroom, but calling it "disrespectful" feels a little over the top to me. Places run on tight budgets, and things break down way faster than you'd think. Not every spot has the cash to fix everything the second it goes wrong. Sometimes you gotta prioritize what's safe versus what's just looking nice. I'd rather them focus on keeping the rides running safely than worrying about a cracked tile or a scuffed floor.
