My $40 orchid fertilizer program was a total scam

I spent 3 months following this fancy feeding schedule I found online for my orchids, and all it did was burn the roots and kill 2 of my favorite Phalaenopsis. The lady who ran the group kept saying I needed to buy her special $25 'bloom booster' mix to see results. Has anyone else fallen for those overpriced fertilizing routines?

Oh man, I've been there. Orchids are actually pretty chill about feeding, they hate heavy schedules. Just grab a balanced 20-20-20 fertilizer and use it at half strength once a month, skip winter entirely.

That half strength advice is key. I've seen too many people burn their orchids thinking more food means more blooms, but it just stresses them out. Letting them rest in the winter really seems to make a difference for the spring flowers too.
