My neighbor said to water my new fern every single day...
The leaves turned yellow in three days, so I cut back to twice a week and it's finally happy. Anyone have a good schedule for Boston ferns in dry apartments?

Ugh, daily watering is a death sentence for most houseplants. Your fix is spot on. For a dry apartment, twice a week is a good start, but stick your finger in the dirt. If the top inch feels dry, give it a soak. They like humidity, so a weekly misting helps a ton.

Totally agree, and a pebble tray under the pot can boost humidity without the mess of daily misting.

Forget the pebble tray, honestly. It barely moves the needle for humidity in a real room. I tried it for months with a hygrometer and saw zero change. A cheap humidifier right next to the plants is the only thing that actually works. Misting is basically useless too, it just wets the leaves for a few minutes. You need constant moisture in the air for those tropical plants.
