PSA: I picked the variegated Monstera over the standard green one for my apartment's north window.

After reading a blog post from 'Rooted in NYC' that said the variegated types need more light, I still chose it (the white and green leaves are just too cool) and it's actually putting out a new leaf after six weeks, so has anyone else had a weirdly chill variegated plant in lower light?

Totally get that, the variegated ones are just so pretty. My albo monstera sits in a pretty dim corner and it's still growing, just slower. The new leaves come in a bit smaller but they still have that awesome white splash. Sometimes those care blogs make it sound like you need a greenhouse.

Honestly the plant care world can be so dramatic. They make it seem like one wrong move and your plant is a goner. My experience is that most houseplants are way tougher than we give them credit for. Sure, perfect light gets perfect growth, but plants want to live. They adapt. That albo is proof, it's still putting out leaves even in the dim spot.
