Serious question, my neighbor in Tulsa swore I was killing my pothos by watering it every Sunday, so I stopped for 6 weeks
The thing dropped 9 leaves and sent out one sad vine that's now reaching for my kitchen window like it's begging, so was he right and I just quit too early or was he flat wrong about the 7 day schedule?
Man, six weeks is a long time to test a plant's will to live! The thing with pothos is the soil dries out at different speeds depending on your pot size, room temp, and how much light it gets, so a strict Sunday schedule can be fine in summer and way too much in winter. Your neighbor wasn't totally wrong about overwatering being the usual killer, but the leaves dropping after you quit tells me the plant was just thirsty, not drowning.
