Traded a monstera for a prayer plant at a plant swap in Brooklyn

I brought my overgrown monstera to a swap last Saturday and this guy offered me his tri-color stromanthe (which I've wanted forever) in exchange, no questions asked. I grabbed it immediately but now the prayer plant folds up every night like it's mad at me and I have no clue if that's normal or if I'm doing something wrong. Has anyone else had a stromanthe that acts super dramatic after a trade?

Wait, the thing folds up at night like it's mad at you? That's actually just how stromanthes work, they move their leaves when the sun goes down.

My triostar does the same dramatic folding thing every night like clockwork. I almost returned it the first week because I thought it was dying. Once I figured out it was just doing its thing, I put it in a spot where I can actually watch it move at sunset. It's kind of cool once you get used to it.
