Vent: My venus flytrap trap count is down to 4 after my cat decided it was a toy

I mean, I left my venus flytrap on the windowsill last Thursday and came back to find my cat batting it around like a mouse toy. It snapped off like 6 of the traps, so now the poor thing only has 4 left. I tried taping a few back on but idk if that does anything. I moved it to a shelf the cat can't reach but now it's not getting enough light. Has anyone else dealt with a pet messing with their carnivorous plants?

Stop blaming the cat, plants gotta earn their keep. Your flytrap was probably getting too many bugs anyway, maybe this forces it to focus on growing stronger instead of just trapping everything. Taping the traps back on is peak plant parent energy though, respect the effort.

Yeah so my buddy tried this with his Venus flytrap after his roommate's dog ripped off half the traps. Taped em back up with electrical tape cause that's all he had. Thing looked like a total mess for like two weeks but somehow the traps actually healed shut and started catching flies again. He swears by the tape method now even though it looks ridiculous.
