Walking through the old greenhouse at the city park, I noticed the ferns had started curling their fronds inward.
The guide said it's a sign they're conserving moisture because the automatic misters broke down two weeks ago.

The city's maintenance budget is clearly shot. Those ferns are just trying to survive basic neglect. Pretty sad for a public park.

Plants are smarter than we give them credit for. It's a shame the park hasn't fixed the system yet.

Seriously! I saw a documentary where they showed plants basically talking to each other through their roots. Makes you wonder what those park ferns are saying about us right now.
