Chose an Etsy store over a Shopify site for my small brand and it actually worked better
Everyone told me Shopify was the only way to look legit. I spent 3 weeks setting up a store, paid for a theme, and got like 2 sales. Then I threw a quick Etsy shop together in an afternoon and hit 40 sales in the first month. The traffic is built in and people actually trust the platform. Has anyone else had better luck with marketplace sites over your own storefront?

Honestly, "threw a quick Etsy shop together in an afternoon" is the most relatable thing I've heard all day. My Shopify store is currently collecting digital cobwebs while Etsy just keeps basically handing me customers.

Oh, come on... is it really that bad? @hernandez.brooke I feel like people overhype how hard Shopify is. Sure, Etsy drops customers in your lap, but you're paying for that convenience with fees and basically no control over your brand. Shopify takes work, yeah, but you build something that's actually yours. Maybe your store isn't that cobwebby, you just haven't figured out the right way to drive traffic yet. Not every platform has to hand you customers on a silver platter to be worth it.
