Compared two brand tracking tools for my small business, one was a total waste
I run a small organic skincare line out of Portland and decided to try two different brand tracking tools last quarter. One was Brand24 and the other was Mentionlytics. I spent $89 a month on Brand24 and three months later I had nothing useful beyond basic mentions. Mentionlytics cost me $49 a month and within two weeks I could see exactly which influencers were driving our sentiment and where our brand was losing traction. The difference was how they handled data. Brand24 gave me a firehose of alerts I had to sift through myself. Mentionlytics grouped conversations by topic and showed me actual trends over time. Has anyone else found that the more expensive tools just dump data on you without real analysis?

Did you check if both tools let you filter by topic before you bought them? I had the same problem with a pricier tool that just dumped mentions on me. It's frustrating when they charge more but do less actual work. The cheaper one sounds way smarter for your small business.
