Customer told me my shop logo looked like a clipart mess, so I redid the whole thing

Honestly, this guy comes in last Tuesday for an oil change on his 2018 F-150 and says my logo looked like I copied it off a free website from 2005. He was kinda rude about it but he wasn't wrong. I paid $150 for that logo 3 years ago and never thought twice about it. So I hired a local kid in Dallas who does graphic design freelance for $250 to make me something clean with just my shop name and a wrench icon. Now I get people saying it looks professional and it actually matches the vibe of my shop. Has anyone else had a random customer give feedback that made you totally change how you present your business?

Yeah that customer did you a solid honestly. Sometimes you need a random rude person to slap you with the truth. I had a similar thing happen with my menu board at my shop, some lady said it looked like a ransom note with all the different fonts and colors. It stung but she was right. So I paid a guy $300 to simplify the whole thing and now it actually looks clean instead of looking like I made it in Microsoft Word on a hangover. Funny how the people who piss you off sometimes end up helping your business the most.

Bet that 300 bucks could've bought you a bunch of angry customers who tell you the truth for free.
