Found out 80% of brand logos don't pass a simple black-and-white test
I was reading a brand audit report last week (boring stuff, I know) and it said most logos lose all clarity in black and white. I tested mine and it turned into a smudgy mess. Turns out my small roofing company's logo relies way too much on color contrast, which is a huge problem for print ads and merch. I guess I never thought about it because everything is digital these days. Has anyone else found their brand identity falls apart in monochrome?

lol my logo is basically a colorful splat that looks like a sad coffee stain in black and white. i had business cards printed and they came out looking like i just dropped my coffee on them. honestly it's humbling to realize your entire brand identity relies on "ooh pretty colors" instead of actually having a solid shape. guess i gotta go back to the drawing board and figure out how to make a roof look good without relying on rainbow vibes.

Wait until you see it printed in neon on a sign.
