I finally realized my brand's Instagram was just talking at people after a comment said 'cool pics but who are you guys?'
That one question from a follower in Denver made me see we had zero story behind our posts, so now I start every caption with a specific, small detail about our process, like 'This batch used 18 pounds of local hops.'

Read a marketing blog that said people buy the "why" behind a product, not just the product itself.

Oh man, that reminds me of my friend's bakery. She posted a cake photo and someone asked "why is it so expensive?" She started adding stuff like "this took 3 hours to frost because the buttercream was too warm." Totally changed how people saw her work. It's exactly what @thomas.cameron was saying about the "why." People started commenting on the details, not just the price.

Right? My buddy runs a small hot sauce company and started posting stuff like "this ferment went 6 weeks because the garage was too cold." People went from asking about the price to asking if he could ship to their state.
