Our coffee shop's Instagram got hacked on a Saturday and someone renamed us "Bean Daddy"
I run a small coffee shop in Portland and woke up last Saturday to 47 texts because someone had taken over our Instagram, changed the name to "Bean Daddy," and posted a bunch of weird stuff to our 4,200 followers. I panicked for about ten minutes, then got our password reset through Meta, deleted the posts, and posted a short video from behind the counter explaining what happened. What surprised me was that our follower count actually went up by 200 that week and people came in joking about it, asking for a "Bean Daddy" latte. Has anyone else dealt with a hack like this? I'm trying to figure out if I should turn this into a joke or just move on and pretend it never happened.
