Changed my mind about epoxy river tables after my first pour went totally wrong
I was dead set against epoxy tables for years, thought they were just a internet fad. Then I tried making one in my garage last Saturday and the whole thing went sideways... I mixed the resin wrong and it got so hot it started smoking. I had to open both garage doors and run a fan for hours to clear the smell. My neighbor came over to check if my house was on fire lol. But after I sanded down that ruined mess and tried again with better measurements, something clicked. The way the wood and resin came together on round two actually looked decent. Now I'm three small projects in and I can't stop thinking about what to try next. Has anyone else had a project go bad but it made you want to keep going even more?

Kinda like how the best cooking happens after you burn a few meals" - I'd just add that epoxy gets way hotter than any recipe gone wrong, a full-on smoke cloud is a different kind of learning curve. But you're right, that first disaster teaches you more than ten perfect pours ever could.

Kinda like how the best cooking happens after you burn a few meals, failure just shows you where the real learning starts lol.
