Found a 40-year-old sandcastle competition in Rehoboth that runs on vibes and spray glue

Went down to the Rehoboth Beach sand sculpting festival last weekend, mostly to drink and watch people, but there's this weird amateur category where folks just show up with buckets and old spatulas. One guy was literally using a turkey baster to drip wet sand into castle towers, and the judges walked by with clipboards and just nodded, no tape measures or anything. I asked one of the veterans about the rules and he said 'no power tools, no crying' which cracked me up. Has anyone else stumbled into a hobby event that's way looser than you expected, or is this just Delaware doing Delaware things?

It feels free until you actually try it and realize your sand castle looks like a sad pile of dog dirt next to theirs. Delaware just hides its competitiveness behind beach chairs and cheap beer.
