Just started making tiny bookends out of air dry clay, learned 1mm of shrink matters
Last month I tried molding a 1:12 scale bookshelf and every shelf warped because I didn't account for the clay shrinking about 5% as it dried in my garage in Boise. Now I roll it out to 6mm instead of 4mm and weigh the pieces down with a spoon while they cure, but has anyone found a sealer that doesn't make the clay look shiny like plastic?
