Overheard a guy at the hardware store say he grouts his shower joints with epoxy instead of cement, now I'm wondering if I've been doing bathroom tilts wrong for 8 years.
He said his epoxy joints haven't cracked or stained once in 3 years, so has anyone else switched to epoxy for a normal home shower or is that just overkill for a DIY job?

That epoxy guy probably has an interior shower bench or a niche shelf that holds shampoo bottles. Those flat surfaces with tile edges are where cement grout always fails first, the epoxy would definitely hold up better there if you're constantly knocking bottles around.
