Rant: My first terrarium build took 9 hours because I couldn't seal the lid

So here's the thing I'm torn on. I spent all Sunday trying to get a glass jar to hold moisture without fogging up like crazy. The problem was the silicone sealant I bought at Ace Hardware took 4 hours to cure and then failed anyway. But some people online say you can just use a cork lid and mist daily. Which method is actually better for keeping moss alive? Has anyone else had this sealing nightmare or am I just overthinking it?

Have you tried just taping the lid shut and calling it a day? I spent six hours on my first build, only to realize I forgot to add drainage and my moss turned into soup. Honestly, I think you're overthinking it, a cork lid and daily misting works way better than my silicone nightmare ever did.

I saw a video where a terrarium builder said the secret is using a false bottom with charcoal and then a screen layer on top. They claimed it stops the soup situation before it even starts because the water drains down but the dirt stays up. Your cork lid idea sounds way less fussy than trying to get a perfect seal with silicone though, especially if you already killed one build.
