Tried making my own tiny dollhouse armchair from a walnut shell and ended up with a wobbly mess after two hours of work

I learned that walnut shells are way too brittle to carve into a chair shape unless you soak them first, and even then the legs just snap off, has anyone here tried using acorn caps instead?
