Went to a tiny house expo and left feeling weird about my own clutter problem
I checked out that tiny house expo in Portland last weekend, mostly out of curiosity since I clean big houses for a living and hate how much stuff people pile up. But those tiny homes made me feel worse, not inspired. People were showing off their 180 square foot setups with fold down tables and hidden storage everywhere, and all I could think about was how they probably spend every single waking hour maintaining that system. I get the appeal, I really do, but it felt like a museum where you can't touch anything without messing up the whole flow. Meanwhile I got back to my own 2 bedroom place and just stared at my closet for ten minutes. How do you guys find the line between living simpler and just trading one obsession for another? Has anyone else gone to one of these shows and walked away feeling less motivated, not more?
