A simple trick for keeping my line level on a windy day
Last week I was working on a chimney rebuild in Springfield and the wind kept knocking my line level off the brick. I was about ready to pack it in when I saw an old mason's string bag in my truck. I put a small washer in the bottom of the bag and hung the level inside it. The weight kept it steady and I finished the course. What do you guys do when it's too windy for a normal setup?

That's smart, but @blake428, a nut works even better than a washer.

Putting a washer in the bag" is that kind of simple fix I love seeing.

My old vacuum had a loose hose that drove me nuts. I finally fixed it with a zip tie and a piece of a foam pool noodle. It looked ridiculous but it worked for another three years.
