Appreciation post: my trowel handle snapped at hour 6 on the Morton Ave job
Halfway up the second course last Tuesday my trowel handle cracked right where it meets the ferrule, and I watched the blade drop into the mortar tub. I grabbed my backup out of the truck but the balance was off and my bed joints looked terrible for the rest of the day. Ended up soaking the old handle in linseed oil overnight like my first foreman, Ray, always bugged me to do, and it tightened right up the next morning. Anybody got a brand that actually holds up past a year or am I just hard on my tools?
