Dropped $400 on a laser level for a big commercial job and it's been a nightmare

It was supposed to speed up the layout for this warehouse in Phoenix, but the thing loses its calibration if you look at it wrong. Had to redo a whole 50-foot run last week because it drifted by a quarter inch. My old string line and transit never pulled this junk. Anyone have a laser they actually trust for outdoor work?

My cousin swears by his old Topcon laser for setting foundations, even in direct sun. He says the newer models with the fancy digital screens are too fragile for real site work. He's had the same green beam unit for almost ten years now.

A buddy of mine had his brand new Hilti laser die after a light rain on a job site. He borrowed a twenty year old Topcon from his dad and it's still running strong after two more seasons. Sometimes the old stuff is just built tougher.
