Found a simple trick to speed up mortar mixing on cold mornings

Been dealing with mortar setting too slow on these 40 degree mornings. Usually I just mix it normal and wait around. Last week a guy on site told me to use warm water instead of cold. Not hot, just warm tap water. Cut the set time by about 20 minutes. Nothing fancy but saved my back on a 9 hour day. Any of you guys got tricks for cold weather mixing?

Warm water works but did you check how it affects the final strength?

Yeah totally, warm water made mine noticeably weaker. Had to double the dose.
