I finally got a compliment from old Mr. Hendricks on that garage wall I did near Maple Street

He's been laying brick for like 40 years and never says anything nice to anyone. I was nervous doing the corner returns on his garage because he kept watching me from his porch. After I finished, he just walked up and said 'That's the tightest corner I've seen in 10 years, kid.' Made my whole week honestly. Has anyone else had a grumpy old pro give them a nod like that?

Hendricks has been a legend on this street since before I had my truck. A nod from him is worth more than a bonus check from some fancy architect. You earned that one for real.
