I keep seeing guys skip the pre-soak on hot days and it's costing them the whole wall

That climbing blog I follow said the rock can get 20 degrees hotter than the air on a sunny afternoon. @the_sandra is totally right about adding an extra minute... the surface heat just sucks the moisture right out. I watched a guy's chalk turn to dust on contact last week because he rushed it. It feels like a waste of time but it's the only way to get any real stick.

Learned that the hard way last summer. Just soak for an extra minute, it makes all the difference.
