Picked a trowel with a longer handle for a retaining wall job, glad I did
I had to choose between my regular 10 inch trowel and a 12 inch offset handle one for a 4 foot tall retaining wall in Akron. The longer handle saved my lower back after 6 hours of stacking block, no joke. Has anyone else found a tool swap that made a big difference on a specific kind of job?

My 48 year old knees made me switch from a standard demolition hammer to one of those full length handle SDS Max rotary hammers for a basement wall take down. Felt like I was cheating after the first hour of busting out block. Now I just keep the short one for when I need to fit between studs or something, which is never.

Buddy of mine swore by his little electric demo hammer till he helped his son rip out an old concrete patio. Borrowed a neighbor's SDS Max with the long handle and texted me later saying he felt like an idiot for punishing his back for 20 years. Now he won't touch the short one either.
