Shoutout to the foreman in Gary who made me tear down 3 courses of block
I was laying 8 inch block on a garage wall in Gary last week and got about 3 courses up before he walked over and said my mortar joints were running 5/8 inch on the head side. I argued for a minute, then grabbed the level and sure enough the wall was leaning out almost half an inch over 12 feet, so I knocked it all down and started over with a fresh string line. How do you all keep your head joints tight when you are moving fast, do you check with a story pole every course or just eyeball it?
