Stuck between wet saw and grinder for cutting brick in tight spots...

I had to decide between hauling my big wet saw up a ladder or using a 4 inch grinder with a diamond wheel for cutting brick on a third story balcony job in Austin last week. I went with the grinder because it was faster to set up, but the dust was insane even with a spray bottle and now I'm worried about the neighbor's complaint. Has anyone else tried using a cheap dust shroud on a grinder for brick and had it actually work?

You are making a huge mistake if you think a dust shroud will fix your grinder dust problem on brick. I have used two different cheap shrouds from Amazon on my grinder and they both ended up more as a suggestion than an actual solution. The dust still got everywhere because the brick dust is so fine it finds any gap. A wet saw is slower to haul up but it keeps the silica dust down which is probably more important than saving twenty minutes on setup time.

I mean... is it really that serious though? I've been using a cheap shroud on mine for months and it catches most of it, maybe you got a bad one.
