Told a guy his $40 brick hammer was junk, then he let me swing it for 10 minutes
Last week on a job in Akron this older guy pulls out a hammer I never heard of and I flat out told him he got ripped off. He just laughed and handed it to me, said swing it on that course for a bit. Ten minutes later my wrist wasn't sore at all and the thing was biting through the mortar way cleaner than my old 24 oz. I ended up ordering one that night for $40. Any of you run a hammer that costs more than the cheap ones and keep going back to it?
Akron's full of old timers who know their tools, so I'm not surprised he just laughed at you. Though ten minutes of swinging won't really tell you how the handle holds up after a full season of real work.
