Vent: The time I tried to use a garden hose to spray down a wall before laying brick
I was in a rush on a job in Chattanooga and my pressure washer was broken. I figured a regular hose would be fine to clean off the old mortar. It took me over an hour just to get the surface damp enough to work with. The next day I borrowed a neighbor's cheap electric pressure washer and did the same wall in about 8 minutes flat. Has anyone else tried to cut a corner with the wrong tool and just wasted a ton of time?

Man, I used to think a hose was fine until I wasted a whole afternoon like that too.

Nah, a hose gets the job done fast if you know what you're doing.

Ever try to hose off dried mud or bird poop? The pressure just pushes it around and makes a bigger mess. I end up using a bucket and sponge anyway to really lift the grime. A hose is quick for light dust, but for a real clean you need the soak and scrub method.
