Visited an old job site in Pittsburgh and noticed my brick wall from 2013 still looks perfect
I was driving through Pittsburgh last week for a family thing and swung by this house I worked on 12 years ago. The owner still lives there and she said the brick wall on her front porch never cracked or shifted once. Made me feel pretty good honestly because I used a really tight bond pattern on that one and was nervous about it at the time. Any of you guys ever go back and check your old work years later

Read somewhere that masonry work from the 2000s and early 2010s is holding up better because they still used the older mortar mixes. That wall probably outlasts half the stuff built now.

lol "probably outlasts half the stuff built now" is a pretty big claim for a random wall isn't it? I mean yeah old mortar mixes were probably better but I feel like people always say "they don't build em like they used to" about literally everything. Every generation thinks their stuff was built tougher lol. Plus that wall is just sitting there not having to deal with modern building codes or anything so it's an easy comparison to make.
