I bought a $30 rice cooker and it was a total waste for me
Everyone says a rice cooker is a must for cheap meals, so I got one last month. I live alone and cook small batches, but it always makes the bottom layer gummy and sticks badly. I spent more time cleaning it than my old pot, and now it just takes up space. Has anyone else found a simple pot works better for one or two people?

Honestly this is why I just use a pot, so many gadgets just create more work.

Exactly, @noah914. Pots just work. Every gadget needs its own special cleaning method. They take up a whole drawer. Half of them break after a few uses. It's just more stuff to store and more stuff to wash. A good pot does the same job without the hassle.

Oh come on, it's not that deep lol. Yeah gadgets can be annoying but a garlic press saves me like 2 minutes every time I cook. I get the pot argument for most things but sometimes a tool is just faster and easier. Not everything has to be some big philosophical debate about kitchen minimalism.
