I think the 'batch cooking on Sunday' advice is overrated for most people

Everyone keeps pushing that you need to spend 4 hours every Sunday prepping all your meals for the week. In my experience, that just leads to me eating sad, soggy leftovers by Wednesday. I'd rather spend 15 minutes each morning throwing together a simple lunch, like a can of beans with some rice and hot sauce for maybe $1.50 total. The whole Sunday prep thing assumes you have that much free time and actually want to eat the same thing 5 days in a row. Has anyone else found a middle ground that works better for a real 40 hour work week?

Sunday prepping is a trap, I swear. Nobody wants a wilted salad on Thursday that was crisp on Sunday. My middle ground is making three things on Sunday that freeze well, like soups or chili, then rotating through them with fresh quick stuff during the week. That way I'm not eating sad beans every day, but I'm also not cooking from scratch nightly. Works way better for my schedule and taste buds.

Ha, @nina_lane16 you've hit on something bigger there. It's like everyone thinks prepping has to be all or nothing, but real life is about finding the middle ground that actually sticks.
