I used to buy chicken breasts every week until my grocery bill hit $117 at Kroger
For like 2 years I bought the $6 packs of boneless skinless breasts without even thinking about it. Then a few months ago my total at the register came to $117 for basically nothing and I just stood there staring at the receipt. My neighbor told me to try bone-in thighs instead, and a family pack is like $7 for way more meat than the breasts. I roasted a tray of them with onions and potatoes last Sunday and it fed me lunch for 4 days straight. Now I make a big pot of rice on Sunday and just build bowls around whatever cheap protein I grabbed. Has anyone else made the switch, and what do you do with the bones?
