My sister said beans and rice is boring, and I finally snapped at Sunday dinner in Milwaukee
She sat there with her $14 takeout bowl and said nobody eats beans and rice unless they have to. I've worked two jobs since March and my grocery bill is $45 a week, so beans, rice, a bag of frozen peppers and an onion get me five dinners. She thinks cheap food means sad food, but I eat better now than when I was blowing $300 a month on delivery apps. What's the one cheap meal your family swears is boring that you'd defend to anybody?
