Shoutout to my freezer for saving me about $40 last week on groceries

I kept noticing I'd buy fresh veggies and then half of them would go bad before I used them up. So last Sunday I tried something different - I chopped a whole bag of bell peppers and onions right when I got home from the store, spread them on a baking sheet, froze them for 2 hours, then threw them in a freezer bag. Just used some in a stir fry tonight and they tasted fine. Not as crunchy as fresh but way better than throwing money in the trash. Anyone else got a go-to freezer hack that actually cuts down on food waste?

Read that same trick actually helps lock in flavor.

My buddy Steve tried that with a brisket last weekend. He wrapped it tight in foil and let it sit in a cooler for like 2 hours before serving. Everyone at the cookout kept saying how much more smoky and tender it was than his usual, so I guess the trick works pretty well for him.
