The 'freeze your rice' trick saved me $40 a month on takeout
I was throwing away leftover rice every week until I started freezing single portions in ziplock bags. Has anyone else found this cuts down on food waste or am I just late to the party?

You mention "saved me $40 a month on takeout" and that got my attention. I started freezing my rice too after reading about it on a cooking blog last year, but I actually had to learn the hard way not to freeze it when it's still hot. I ended up with a bag full of ice crystals and soggy rice that was worse than the takeout version. Now I let it cool completely on a sheet pan before bagging it, and it comes out almost like fresh when I microwave it with a damp paper towel. It's funny how such a simple change can make such a difference in the weekly routine.

Bro the "soggy rice" thing is too real, I did the same mistake once and it turned into freezer slush. Now I do this weird thing where I spread it on parchment paper and fan it with a magazine for like 10 minutes before bagging. It sounds extra but my microwave rice comes out fluffy every time now.
