Warning: my $12 'budget' meal plan for the week in Phoenix left me starving by Thursday
I tried to stretch one pack of chicken and a bag of rice across five dinners, but after skipping lunch three days to make it work, I realized that cheap food isn't actually cheap if it leaves you hungry and buying extra snacks, so has anyone else had a plan backfire and what's a better way to actually feel full on a tight budget?

Man, I feel this so hard lol. I did the exact same thing with a giant bag of potatoes last month, thought I was a genius until I was just constantly hungry and tired. Have you tried adding more beans or lentils to your rice? They're super cheap and actually fill you up way better than just plain chicken and rice. I had to learn the hard way that volume is key, like a whole can of black beans with some spices mixed in makes a huge difference.

My buddy Dave bought a 20 pound bag of rice and ate nothing else for a week. He said he felt like a ghost by Friday. Adding a ton of cheap frozen veggies saved him.
