Can we talk about using Airbnb for work trips instead of hotels
I tried booking an Airbnb for a 3 day work trip to Portland last month because I thought it would save money. The nightly rate was 20 bucks cheaper than a hotel, but the cleaning fee added 75 dollars and the wifi was so slow I couldn't do video calls. I spent an extra 30 bucks on coffee shops just to get online. Has anyone else dealt with hidden fees messing up their budget for work travel?

Oh man, the cleaning fee is such a trap... I booked a place in Austin for a week and thought I was getting a steal until I saw that $120 cleaning charge at checkout. And then the host had a rule about taking out the trash and stripping the beds before I left, like I'm paying extra to do their work. The wifi thing is real too, I've had spots where the signal barely reaches the bedroom and you're crouched in the kitchen just to send an email. Plus hotels usually have a business center or free breakfast you can grab, but Airbnbs leave you hunting for a decent spot to work. For short trips like 3 days, the fees just kill any savings you thought you had.
